BRYCE CANYON NP

We began our day by carpooling to Bryce Canyon Lodge for a very yummy breakfast. After breakfast we browsed the giftshop and made our way to the Visitor Center. We viewed the exhibits, shopped the bookstore, and watched an orientation film of Bryce Canyon.

We then took the shuttle to Bryce Point, where we walked and admired the view.
We learned that Bryce Canyon is not a canyon, but an amphitheater.

After a short walk, we reboarded the shuttle to Inspiration Point.

We hiked along the Rim Trail to Sunset Point and Sunrise Point.

These rock formations are called Hoodoos.

The views along the Rim Trail were outstanding!

We returned to the campground around 1 PM. The afternoon was on our own. A number of people opted to rent ATVs and spend approximately 3 hours on the ATV trails. They returned safe and sound, although a bit dirty.

This evening we gathered at Inspiration Point for some snacks and the sunset. A lovely evening.
